I've been priviledged to analyse data and implement models accross multiple industries...
From FinTech to Football to the ecommerce industry.
Chelsea Football Club (Oct. 2022 - Dec. 2022)
As Tech Lead of one of England's biggest clubs, I was tasked with overseeing the data migration project during a change in ownership.
I performed QA audits on both databases to test and confirm data quality. I also assisted the data engineer in building and maintaining datasets in Google BigQuery.
I also built and maintined the data visualisation and automation standards at the club using SQL, LookML and Looker.
My work at Chelsea was very impactful to the team because it formed what has now become the basis and standard for day-to-day reporting on metrics like Customer retention, Use of the club app and Ticket sales at Chelsea.
Tech Stack: SQL (Google Big Query), Microsoft Excel, Looker, LookML, Python.
Blue Motor Finance (July 2022 - Sept. 2022)
Blue Motor Finance is the UK's largest car finance lender and Europe's fastest growing FinTech since 2019.
During my time here, I built a model for the collections team to predict if a customer will default on an upcoming payment.
I queried previous customer payment behaviour data, analysed and transformed it before using about 8 different models to perform prediction.
Random forest classifier had the highest accuracy of all the models with an accuracy score of over 90%.
This task was very important to the collections team as it reduced the time and resources that were prevously used to contact customers that would not have defaulted on their payments.
It was also important to help the team properly assist customers that were going to default on payments during the cost of living crisis in the UK.
Tech Stack: SQL (Microsoft Sequel Server), Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Python.
MadeSmarter UK (Dec. 2021 - May 2022)
MadeSmarter is the UK government's scheme to infuse tech talent into non-tech industries.
Through this scheme, I got to work with a gin distillery based in Manchester, Four Sisters Distillery.
My goal for the six months of placement was to use the data gathered at different points in the business to drive increase in sales and revenue.
Though it was not a traditional tech environment, I used the tools available to build stable reporting dashboards in Microsoft excel and Tableau which the business still uses to track expenses and expected returns.
Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Tableau.
Carbon (Sept. 2020 - Sept. 2021)
Carbon is one of Nigeria's leading digital banks with over 10 million naira in disbursements annually.
I joined the team as a portfolio analyst analysing the loan product before I moved on to join the Business Intelligence team
where I was analysing other existing products, creating market analysis for to-be products and analysing customer churn and retention on new products.
The team at Carbon was fully remote and this became my first introduction to full remote working.
Tech Stack: SQL (Google Big Query), Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Python.
Where next?
For my next gig, I'm looking to drive more data-founded decisions, build helpful models and create data products.
I could be doing all of this and more at your company. Contact me!
Still not convinced? Let's look at some geeeky stuff I've worked on in my spare time!
